LS-OI100 Oxygen Index Tester

Control unit shown. Combustion column, specimen holders and gas accessories are confirmed in the quoted supply list.

Defined Combustion Column

A 100 mm internal diameter and 450 mm height define the listed column. Confirm the complete assembly against the required test procedure.

Oxygen–Nitrogen Gas Control

Dedicated gas controls and pressure instrumentation support setting up the test mixture. Flow range and concentration verification are specified for the selected method.

Specimen-Specific Holders

The listed scope covers self-supporting and non-self-supporting materials. Select the holder around specimen dimensions, flexibility and preparation.

Comparative Material Testing

Use oxygen index data to compare polymer formulations under consistent conditions, alongside the mechanical and thermal properties required by the product specification.

Testing Method

Oxygen index for polymer burning-behaviour comparison

Oxygen index describes the gas mixture needed to sustain combustion of a prepared specimen under the selected test conditions. Define conditioning, dimensions, support, gas measurement, ignition, observation and calculation before comparing results. It is distinct from calorific value, HDT/Vicat and melt flow, so select each instrument around the property required by the material specification.

Technical FAQ

What should I include in an LS-OI100 inquiry?

Provide the material, specimen dimensions, support type, expected oxygen index, daily test count, method edition and required documentation. Include gas supply details, ventilation, electrical requirements and destination.

Is the pictured control unit the complete test system?

The image shows the control unit only. Request the quoted supply list for the combustion column, specimen holders, ignition accessories, tubing, regulators, gas supplies and calibration items.

Does class 2.5 mean ±2.5% oxygen concentration accuracy?

No. Class 2.5 is the listed accuracy class of the flowmeter and pressure gauges. Oxygen concentration range, resolution, accuracy and verification must be confirmed separately for the selected configuration.

Is LS-OI100 confirmed for ISO 4589-2 or ASTM D2863?

These are relevant oxygen index methods, but compliance with a specific edition is not established for this listing. Submit your method so gas measurement, column geometry, specimen support, ignition and verification records can be checked before ordering.

Can oxygen index replace a fire classification test?

No. It compares burning behaviour under defined laboratory conditions. It does not by itself establish a finished-product fire rating or predict all behaviour in actual service.

Does this model include automatic concentration control and reports?

Closed-loop concentration control, automatic endpoint detection, data storage and report export are not specified for this configuration. Confirm any required automation or reporting functions before quotation.
